Reduce Disease Challenge with Avoid

Each time you gather or handle your flock, the potential for spreading infection is increased.

Anywhere where the flock gathers, such as water troughs or near mineral buckets, is likely to cause a collection of bacteria and encourage spread.

Consider ways in which you can help avoid spreading infection, such as putting lime around water troughs and only footbathing if you have somewhere clean and dry to stand the sheep afterwards.

Ask yourself the questions below. If you answer ‘no’ to more than three, consider increasing your focus on avoiding spread of infection.
